Abstract

Most of the researchers believe that the region of middle Zagros and modern Lorestān had been the origin and the first settlement of the people who were called Kassite/Kašo in the history of the ancient world. In the second half of the second millennium BC, the Kassites occupied many parts in the middle Zagros and then attacked the Mesopotamia mightily and set up their 576 year-old kingdom which was the longest kingdom of outsiders in ancient Mesopotamia. The most important event in the history of Kassites was their arrival to Mesopotamia and their long lasting empire in this region, which might be the result of the migration of some groups of Arians that began from Central Asia to Zagros Mountain in the second millennium B.C. In fact the arrival of the Kassites to Mesopotamia had been their arrival to the luminance of the history of ancient Near East which had left salient outcomes in this region. In this research, with study of  the arrival of  the Kassites to Mesopotamia, the outcome of their long presence there will be discussed.
