Humanities Quarterly started to work with a scientific-research approach to publication of articles from all disciplines in 1989. In 2002, as per the Publications Commission decision, the journal was specialized, and the titled changed to Literature, History and Languages Journal. Later in 2009, the magazine was further specialized and publication continued with a merely historical approach.

This magazine is graded as a scientific-research magazine as per the letter number 5022/22, dated 16/05/1990 of The Ministry of Culture and Higher Education.
