Abstract
The study of representataion of Iranian identity is required for geneology of our current identity. Identity, composed of specific elements, maintains or converts as a time-based phenomena. The classical texts let us to study the process of representataion. The main aim of the article is studying the roles of temporal and local contexts and political, cultural and religious interests in representation of Iran and Iranians in the classical texts. We selected two classical masterpiece, Ibn Battuta’s Rihla and Evliya Çelebi’s Seyahatnâme, for this purpose. While Ibn Battuta’s fluid sufi viewpoint interrupted his account, Evliya Çelebi adopted a fanatic approach in front of Others
