Abstract

Abdullah ibn Zubayr and Mukhtar ibn abu Ubayd Thaqafi are among those who revolted in the middle of the Umayyad era. Ibrahim ibn Malik Ashtar was noticed by both of the groups because of his fame, descent, and influence . Firstly he companied with Mokhtar, in order to get revenge of the martyrs of fields of Taf, But after the battle of Khazir and and gaining the rulership of Mosul Province got separated from him. He was still in Mosul until that Zubayriyan defeated Mukhtar and took over Iraq . Ibrahim was then united with Zubayryan and finally was killed in battle with the Umayyads . The seperatin of Ibrahim from Mukhtar and his company with Zubayrian, in spite of his alavid beliefs, is a paradox that sources had not noticed. A social survey of historical accidents and analysis of spare reports on these two revolts, will provide facts that may be the reason of that separation and this union.
