The outbreak of the disease, by afflicting physical and mental health, ultimately results in the death of human beings. The present study is based on the issue: how were the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of the deadly infectious Cholera in the Safavid era Iranian society? Based on the descriptive-analytical method, the results of this study show that the Iranian medical system during the Safavid era used the humors view (Tebb-e Akhlati, which was done by physicians), concepts of religious healing (religious community and scholars), and vulgar and magical beliefs to fight Cholera. Various prevention and treatment methods were used according to the type of disease. It should be noted that according to the nature of the subject, most of the information about the approach of physicians is included in the framework of the humors view. In this view, Cholera is classified as a fever that was common following the outbreak of Cholera weather (Havāy-e Wabāīī). In this approach, observing the principles of hygiene in the form of six measures (sette zarurieh) to prevent the disease was given priority. In addition, various forms of religious healing and vulgar treatments were used to prevent and treat the disease.
